Question about contracts. The Yankees owe Hicks money on his 7/70 contract, does the money the O's are paying him this year decrease what the Yankees owe him? I'm not really sure how that works.

Yes, so the Yankees "only" owe him $69.something million

It would be funny if Hicks was sucking because of injuries and such.  And we get him just when he gets healthy.  That would be just so much fun.

He is becoming one of my favorite players. Sucked complete ass on the Yankees. Now he is Hank Aaron on the Orioles.

Something I've noticed with this team.  Two outs, guy draws a walk, steals a base or something and the next guy gets a timely hit.  They grind every game.  And that leads to winning baseball.

Agree completely. Such a huge shift, we have gone from swinging at everything to one of the best OBP teams in the league. Good things happen when you have baserunners.

And with Aaron Judge hitting the IL too.  How long is he expected to be out?

They are currently 6/15 in walks and 5/15 in fewest strikeouts in the AL.  Definitely not Duquette's Orioles.

Love that B Rob is crapping on Toronto.  He said the same thing I’ve been saying for 3 years.

The small but growing possibility the young Vlad/Bo pair might be like Eddie/Cal in the mid-80's could open so many helpful paths for us now and in the next few years.

One thing I do believe is when a nerdy GM/thrifty Owner does that first Teoscar for Erik Swanson type move to trim the roster of a good, high priced player, even if it addresses a real team need, it can buzzkill your group if you don't have the Rays or Dodgers credibility, which even at their best these Jays never got.

Elias was smart I think to fly to Texas after Jorge Lopez, but the real Actions Speak Louder Than Words stuff is about seven Tuesdays away.

Maybe he pressed too hard in NY.  They expect all their center fielders to be DiMaggio or Mantle.  No one expected anything here so he just relaxed and knocked the hell out of the ball.
