Remaining Strength of Schedule

I was looking and trying to project how the trade deadline could affect the schedule. If you make a category between likely buyers, and then likely sellers, it looks like the Orioles should be OK in the month of August but then in the months of September it looks like it could be a real challenge.

At the beginning of the season, I had the O's second and Jays first. I now believe the O's have a legit shot at winning the East. If I am correct, the Rays have played 50 games at home, where, to date they have been killing it (only 31 home games left. They have 38 games on the road where they are, to date, 3 games over ,500. The O's have been much more balanced in their home/away, wins/loses. They also have a more balanced H/A schedule for their remaining games.  It's a long season, a lot can happen. Many here are talking about making changes, that IMO are more than tweaks. They've done better than expected than most predicted through 89 games. If they continue at their current pace, and consistency H/A they will win 98 games. That should do it IMO.

The Rays also 4 more days off than us in the 2nd half.

This is a bigger factor than SOS.  We have more games to play in the 2nd half, and fewer off days, than the teams we need to beat out.  That’s disadvantageous.

With rhe depth on our roster and the options Hyde has to play each day, it might not be as bad it otherwise would be. Gives everyone an equal chance to play and rest. I guess Catcher would be out biggest concern with that topic on the schedule because unfortunately McCann seems to have forgotten how to hit. Great defender as a Catcher thought. Just wish he remembered how to hit like he did when he was an All Star.

The first eight series after the break (26 games) will be 😜 fun.

Marlins, Dodgers, Rays, Phillies, Yanks, Blue Jays, Mets, Astros

Opponent record: 401-325 (.552)

Hopefully, they play up to the competition. This team has the mental/talent makeup to win over half of those games.

Not sure he's going to get that playing 1 or 2 days per week.   Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him starting a couple of games in a row to get some reps and giving Adley a breather at DH.

The Orioles are at .607.  Just sayin'.
