Where does that leave Luke Scott? A DH platoon? Wiggington has a career .878 against lefties, and Trembley avoided Scott in that position as often as possible.

I think this is definitely a precursor to someone else getting moved, with the obvious most likely candidate being Scott, maybe Huff.

Why? Gomez plays the infield positions and Freel plays all the OF positions.

I like it... short term help at positions of need (1B/3B). Wiggington will most likely be our 2010 3B'man, barring a deal for a ML-ready youngster. Again, short-term stability until Rowell or another youngster is ready/acquired.

I truly believe, as many seem to, that MacPhail is setting up another deal. I'm impressed so far.

I don't think it necessarily means anything. It gives the O's the ability to trade Scott or Huff but doesn't mean they have to do it. Wiggs can play several positions.... now it means our bench is better and gives Trembley the ability to rest one of Scott, Huff or Wiggington several times a week.
