One thing that helps here is that the Rangers are (probably?) finally out of the mix for starters. I think their strange obsession with stockpiling all the SPs, and their apparent indifference to cost in continuing to add more and more, was inflating the market for all of the available starters. 

If everyone else holds to their own valuation of these players, it will be hard for teams like the Mets and Tigers to continue to peg their prospect demands off of the Scherzer return, for example.

Padres traded their number 17 prospect and two unranked prospects for Hill and Choi.  Not saying we want Hill and Choi, but maybe prices are getting somewhat more reasonable.

Its amazing how badly these big market teams that went all in before the season are just not doing well.  The Mets decide to cut bait.   The Angels, San Diego decide to stay the course.  Funny trade deadline.
