Don't misunderstand me, I don't want Verlander at any cost. I want him at the right cost.  I prefer taking on $$$ and keeping higher level prospects if that's an option. I would send Tyler Wells and Mountcastle back as part of a deal.. Would Alonzo agree to DH all the time? lol

I am guessing they pulled all the guys in the talks just in case.  I don’t see all three of them going to Mets even for Scherzer unless Mets eat about 30 million of the 60 million still on his contact.

I'm very tired of it still being a thing.

Theoretically the O's should be in the best position of any team to add talent via trade.

Second best record, extremely low payroll, deep farm system with blocked ML ready players.

And yet....

So yea, I'm tired of it.

Are we seeing players with multiple years of team control being moved? 
 

I’m not saying Orioles shouldn’t be trying to get better but deadline isn’t over.

I've been more critical of ownership than I have of Elias.

I'm not surprised. There are doubtless a lot of complicating factors we don't know about. But unless Elias trades for a Robertson alternative, it does suggest something about how far he's willing to go to get an established reliever -- not very.

Agreed.  Can_of_corn's commentary no matter how true, still requires some parameters for it to work for us.  But those in charge have to see a trip to the WS is in sight. Have to push the right buttons for it to be realized.

I would have to think on some levels Elias is requiring multiple years to move some players. Is there any arm out there that fits that? I’m convinced they add 1/2 more pen pieces. What I am not sure of is the rotation.
