I ain't starting no C - Adley v. McCann thread It is a tough spot. Clubs do a lot to save face and protect their superstars. I am confident Adley has not forgotten how to play baseball at this moment in his career, and hopeful almost a solid week off will give some benefit. -
I wonder who that one is? Agreed with Young. The Orioles have no idea whether he can warm up quickly or work with short rest, so making Young a reliever at this stage of the season is a risky proposition. Not to mention he's already thrown 27 more innings than the year before, so for a guy a season away from TJ surgery, they may think it's prudent to shut him down at this stage. I think there's a better case to be made for McDermott to be tried out if they demote Baker. -

His postseason start vs Arizona didn’t go so well last year. He gave up 3 homers, 4 runs and 7 base runners in 4 IP. -
You are probably going to want Slater to start vs Skubal over Kjerstad. Skubal holds LH hitters to a .186 average / .486 OPS. -

It is October. You let them finish the game. Their arms can always be re-attached after it falls off from throwing 110 pitches. -
I would not consider Schmidt an ace. He won't even start for them in the ALDS (maybe ALCS if they make it?). As for Reagns and Lugo, that was Apr/May Orioles, not June-Sept Orioles. That said, maybe it was just an off night vs Cole. And who knows if the bullpen hadn't imploded in the 6th, maybe they string some hits together and knock Cole out of the game.
