I really expected him to be inline for a decent multi-year contract, but he's throwing that opportunity away. The whole "bounce back" interview annoyed me...right or wrong on my part.

I liked the Flaherty trade.  I was wrong.   I don’t know that there is room for him to stay on the club.

Still think it was a worthwhile move even though it hasn’t worked out so far. Flaherty probably doesn’t get another start one would think. Maybe he catches fire in the bullpen.

I try not to be reactionary but they need to just DFA this guy. He has had plenty of chances. We can't afford to burn out the bullpen every time he starts.

I don't think you were wrong to like it - luckily it was not more than a minor move. I do agree that there just may not be room for him.

Flaherty's first home run was on a close to perfect breaking ball.  I guess you could say it should have been low and away (thats where McCann was lined up) and it was low and inside instead. But it shouldnt be a pitch you barrel up like that. I don't like the pitch selection because Turner had just missed on an change-up the pitch before - he should have thrown him a heater up and in.  Secondly I wonder if he's tipping his pitches.  That pitch shouldn't be leaving the park.

I really hate statements like this.  You don’t know squat about what his attitude is and how can you say he’s a “cancer” on the team when they’re playing something like .700 ball since he arrived?  I’m not giving him the credit for that, but he certainly doesn’t seem to be dragging down his teammates.  Just stick to criticizing his pitching (which is plenty enough to criticize) and don’t try to be an amateur remote psychologist.

If they stay with a 5 man rotation Means should replace Flaherty, and if they go back to a 6 man rotation I’d swap Irvin and Flaherty’s roles.
