So here's what I found out: Yes, this is 100% true including the statement that got him suspended. Lots of folks are not happy over this. KB was starting to pick up more and more national ass

The irony here is that Angelos and the Orioles brass are getting far more negative publicity from this than any possible negative interpretation of what Brown said on the air could ever have caused.

And we've been over this.  Britt is extremely reliable.  Tony and Roy Firestone have reported on it.  The Athletic and ESPN have reported on it. Other broadcasters are talking about it.  Thjese people have sources...

Source are wrong.  Often.  And if the story originated from the same source, and that source is wrong, then the story is still wrong.

And I'm not saying the story is wrong, but I will say that it's too ridiculous for me to believe it's fully right.  Maybe there's a kernel of truth in there but there's more to it surrounding the kernel.

Like I said earlier, if the story is true, then Angelos truly needs mental help.  Not even joking.  

I suspect it will all come out over time.

You're one of those guys on twitter/X that says, "Until I know your sources I don't believe you!" 

That's not how any of this works. No one that is in the know, including Brown is going to openly discuss this situation. Everyone in this organization just saw that the smallest of perceived negative comments can be responded to by getting "suspended/not scheduled).

The bigger this gets, the less likely it seems a possibility.

I know of the 8/11 date but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm out of market so I figure the game will be blacked out or on Apple TV anyway. :/

Well, yesterday sure wasn't another dull off day. This group of young Oriole players busting their ass to change this franchise for now and the future doesn't deserve this. This has no good ending. Thanks for putting salt in my cool-aid. Just when I think/hope we are on an upward trajectory, there comes a reminder of who is behind the control screen.

It should really be tonight. Of course 8/11 is when they start the long west coast trip. You know when most fans are asleep when the O's play

I also love Kevin brown, probably in part because his references make sense to me 

I'm on the cusp of both and agree. Miller was the sound of baseball to be when my fandom was galvanized. Then he disappeared while I was distracted by girls, summer jobs, etc. Never knew why and time passes.

I loved Gary. Guess I like the voice and cadence of both he and Miller as much as the content. Brown falls in with those two in that way to me... He sounds the part PLUS I like the content and what others have been critical of I don't get bothered with.

I don't want to lose Brown. He adds so much value to my time spent watching from here. Good ones are not everywhere.

      The Orioles have a single regular reliever with an ERA under 3, and that's Coulombe and he's only been back less than a week. Last year they had 4: Bautista, Cano, and Coulombe. Name 2023 ERA 2024 ERA DIFF Yennier Cano 2.11 3.2 1.09 Cionel Perez 3.54 4.61 1.07 Danny Coulombe 2.81 2.2 -0.61 Jacob Webb 3.27 3.15 -0.12 Bryan Baker 3.6 5.01 1.41 Those are some pretty big dropoffs for Cano, Perez. And while Baker isn't a regular, he's certainly been abysmal aside from like a 3-4 week stretch. But it's not just a regression for Cano and Perez, but we also need to look at the guys masquerading/masqueraded as a closer this year in Kimbrel and Seranthony. Kimbrel had a 5.33 ERA, Seranthony with a 3.43. Between the 2 of them, that's nearly 3x worse performance than Bautista. Bowman has been serviceable, but imploded recently. Soto has been awesome for a spell, but he's had periods where things looked really off. The bullpen is absolutely the Achilles heel of this club. Their collective ERA is 4.26 this season. The Royals had the worst in the AL bullpens up until the O's imploded yet again last night. The Royals bullpen ERA is 4.21, btw. It is a major concern going into the playoffs.

      I thought about Rivera,  but I figured his ability to play two positions would keep him around.    It will be interesting to see what they decide.     One of the non-pitchers will need to be left off as I understand it.     13 max

      I think there's room to keep both.   Shed some bad bullpen arms like Baker and Bowman.   Either Rivera or Gregory Soto can go.   So even if you add McDermott you can keep both Slater and Kjerstad.

      Good information.  I would agree for sure if it was a one game series.  Assuming the series goes 3 games, would you keep Slater over Kjerstad?     I guess if we are prioritizing RH bats, then I’d drop Holliday.

      Understood. My comment was 100% above vibes. They went 2-4 over their last six and lost 3 of 4 to Seattle to drop out of the division and into the wildcard spot. It wasn't a months long limp like the Orioles, but that--at least in my book--counts as limping in. They had no apparent "momentum" going in, but still turned it around. That was the point.
