It took about 3 weeks for my prediction to come true.....but coming true it is.

 

And I take no pleasure in this.  You are talking about a guy who celebrated with 1000s of other O's fans last week in Anaheim.

 

But reality is reality.  They have given us a great season.  Hopefully this late season swoon convinces the Os brass they need to make some big additions this off season.

Chest thumping about how you’re right about the Orioles being bad is weird. 
 

You constantly saying that you “take no pleasure in this” is a lie. You absolutely are, or else you wouldn’t be taking victory laps about it.  You’re more worried about your “prediction coming true” and telling everyone about what an impressive alpha male you are than anything else. 
 

It’s sad, it’s pathetic and it’s probably narcissism.

For what’s it’s worth I think Orioles can clinch playoff spot tonight. 
 

Win plus SEA and TEX loss. 
 

SEA/TEX play each other 7 times. TEX has 65 losses and SEA has 66. One team at best losses 4 games. BAL win tonight is 92 wins. 92-70 gets it done. Hope we do our part.

Alright, I’m going on the record. The Orioles won’t win back-to-back-to-back-to-back World Series. And when I’m right you guys need to worship at the throne.

You're right that they likely won't win the World Series, which is the same for every other team in baseball. 

I already said the other day that they will 99% make the playoffs.  My post heading was WILL NOT win the WS, and MAY NOT make the playoffs.  And that was  a month ago when I made it.  Obviously barring a complete collapse they are making the playoffs.


WILL NOT and MAY NOT are 2 very different things.  I also said if they don't do either?  That is ok.  This has been a great experience for them heading into next year.

I recall reading that back then and thinking "these guys are absolutely crazy...Cruz is a great hitter and worth every penny".    Turns out not resigning him may go down as one of the worst front office moves in O's history.    This board hated the idea of doing so though.

      Every year at the end of the season, I feel a little melancholy. For me, the end of summer is not the start of school or the arrival of fall, but the end of baseball season. Today is the last day of a long song, and I will miss it. I know we have at least four more days, but those are in a different category, although I will miss that too when it ends. During the darkest days of the season, I posted frequently that the worst day of baseball is still baseball. When the Os played terrible, I would go focus on the Brewers or the A’s or Mariners(who were almost as frustrating as the Os) and follow along with former Orioles, rooting for all of them. That will all stop by tonight, and I will miss it until next February, when pitchers and catchers report. If I’m still here, I’ll be here.    Go Os…
