On the bright side, if history has taught us anything, it's that the Orioles would decline to use their lights-out closer in the playoffs anyway. So, this is not a huge loss.

Yes, and that probably won't be announced until a few hours before tomorrow night's game, so if there's a roster move we might know something by around 3-4pm. I bet it will be a sleepless night for Hyde & Elias.

Anyone on here knowledgeable enough to know what the best case scenario might look like? Is it at all likely that it’s a minor strain from over-throwing that last pitch that might heal with rest? Or is it probable that anything that caused that much discomfort after that pitch almost certainly has to be some sort of UCL tear?

Could be either scenario. It would be just as dumb to assume that he's out until 2025 as it would be to assume that he'll be back next week.
