Never should have been in the game.

Hyde plays the L-R matchups, with a quick hook, all game, but with Lopez pitching in the 8th inning it suddenly doesn’t matter. He’s the horse you’re going to ride to the division title on, I guess.

Why did Elias bring him back and deposit him into the pen?

Hyde has to use what's he got to use.

No he doesn't.  There have been many players on the roster that Hyde rarely uses.  Maybe Lopez shouldn't be on the roster,  but him being used as he was this game is all on Hyde.

The loss of Bautista really showing up in this series.

I'm not trying to downplay the loss of Bautista here, but we had a well-rested bullpen. Hyde made the inexcusable decision to use our worst reliever in an important game when he had no reason to do so. This loss is all on Hyde (and the offense to a lesser extent).

I just don't understand the loyalty to Lopez when he's been on the team for two weeks.

Same crap that Hyde always does with his vets .  Gives them way to much rope and credit,  even when they quit being good.   See Odor, Mateo and now Lopez.
