I assume this was a one year thing. Very unlikely the the team uses it again next season. So, what happens to it now?

Does a player keep it as a memento?

Does it go in a showcase at the stadium?

Is it auctioned off for charity?

Does it just go in the trash?

For what it’s worth, I enjoyed the homer hose much more than last year’s chain, or any other ridiculous prop that players are required to wear for a couple minutes.

I am of the thought that any event like that (or pies) should just last the season in which they originated.

I think the team is going to try and continue it.

So the equipment manager has to keep it over the off-season?

A curse of the internet is that someone years from now can dredge up folks wearing JNCOs,  approaching pastels as if they were primary colors, and drinking from imaginary hoses. But if everyone is just cool about it we will be good.

The hose was not imaginary.

They’ll have a hard time topping that if they go with something else next year.

Yeah, it will be lame if the guys will get back to the dugout and throttle a blinged-up stuffed alligator — wrasslin’ the Tater Gator — or some other such nonsense.

More curious about whether or not they bring back Mr. Splash and the Bird Bath, or if that was just a one-off.

Seems to me like they filled that section every night. They might keep it just for the revenue on that block of tickets.

Maybe a live alligator would work.

They had the bird bath section sold out for a couple months.  Can’t imagine they would let that go.
