2009 MLB Odds

I found these odds below. I'll be in Vegas during March Madness. If things go well, I'll probably place $100 on one team. If you were to do that based on these odds, who would you pick?

I'm leaning towards Arizona, but I like Detroit and St Louis as well.

Odds are based upon people's willingness to bet, and only loosely upon a team's chances of winning it all. For example, a team making the post season has approximately 1 chance in 8 of winning the World Series, and yet the Red Sox, Cubs, and both NY teams are posted with better odds than that.

This means that the odds of Arizona and St. Louis getting into the post season should be at least 3.5 to 1 or better. If Carpenter turns out to be healthy this year, the Cards should have a shot.

I think the Rays at 10-1 are probably a better gamble, but not much.
