Do you care what Adam Frazier has to say?

He was probably worth it just for that 2-strike 2-out double down the left field line to score Mateo from first and tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning of arguably the biggest and most dramatic win of the year, game 4 in the final Rays series (just watched the game replay a few days ago).

Arguably the loudest moment of the year at Camden Yards.  I was there and it was quite thrilling.

He says he hasn’t ruled out that the O’s would want him back “in a different role.”  He certainly didn’t seem to think it was likely.  Said Jackson Holliday “will have a huge impact” and Jordan Westburg “is a really good player.”   

He was one of the players who showed up for the Brooks Robinson memorial service.   Didn’t know that.   
 

Yeah, he can start his coaching career.

I liked Frazier and what he contributed to the team.  But no, I don't see him coming back.  I didn't listen to the interview so I'm not sure what kind of role he's suggesting.

Do I care what Frazer thinks?    Yes,  he has been around for a while with Pittsburgh, Seattle before being part of a 101 wins in Baltimore.  He has a perspective that is interesting.

I like his points about why Hyde is such a good manager.   His comment about Holliday was good to hear.    

Glenn kept trying to get him pumped up about the O's being special and Frazier enjoy his time here.  Thinks they are winning group of players, some special moments but overall he wants to be on winning team and says there are other places to win.

He know the chances of returning to the O's are slim.   And he also wants to get paid which is not in the cards with the O's going forward.

Overall a nice interview.

I have come to the conclusion that I was wrong and that Frazier was an important piece of a 101 win Oriole team. He had some really big moments. And he handled his changing role pretty well. 
 

I don’t expect him back. But easily see Adam Frazier as a key piece to last years success.

He seems like a good guy and was a good veteran presence in the locker room. Obviously we all felt he was redundant and took playing time from people like Westburg and Ortiz. I wish him the best and hope we don’t see anyone like him signed in the offseason.

I'm guessing that most of the people making cracks about not wanting Frazier back next year didn't have the time to listen to the interview, which is one of the best ever of an Oriole. Got a real sense of the gracious personality of someone who resolutely maintained a poker face and cool, clutch mindset throughout the season no matter what the situation. The comments on  Hyde, Brooks, Henderson, the post-season byes, the clubhouse atmosphere, and what it feels like to celebrate after keeping one's feelings under wraps during the long, long climb to the division championship were all revelatory. Thanks to Adam for being an indispensable part of a 101-win season!

Good post, this made me actually click the link.

He was always such a boring and soft-spoken post-game interview, so it's refreshing to hear him open up a bit. He's no Kyle Gibson in terms of listening to a guy talk baseball, but nice to hear him be a little looser.
