Since we heard of Rubbenstein a month ago or two ago…this may have all been done preemptively. The vote may be a formality and they have assurances that they have a minimum of 23 votes to approve the sale.

They speculated that the MLB front office is doing cart wheels and happy to see Angelos go 

Angelos and Rubenstein both releasing statements is telling

He’s my hero

He replaced his father and hired Elias to rebuild the system. That worked.

Family is still going to be quite involved I think.

I have a feeling (want to believe), MLB wants this to happen as much as we do. They've had time to do their homework. This could move quick - Rubbenstein power/control. Fingers crossed.

It's hard to imagine why Angelos made so many unforced errors in the media over the last year or so. Literally all he had to do was shut up, let Elias cook, sell the team, and ride off into the sunset. If he did that, he would have probably gone down a hero around here.

Instead he came out and yelled at reporters, and threatened to raise ticket prices, and cried poor, and took Kevin Brown hostage, and released a fake news lease announcement with the Governor, and lied a bunch. Weird choice, Johnny!

I totally understand the disdain for the family but I will say that if you look at it objectively, they have done a lot to modernize things in the last 5 years.

This organization was in the mid-80's prior. I think most of the disdain for the family should be aimed at Peter, bless his old soul. His refusal to evolve operations whatsoever kept us all in the stone ages for a long time.

Rubenstein agreed to a $1.725 billion deal with Orioles chairman and CEO John Angelos on Tuesday to purchase a stake in the Major League Baseball organization, multiple sources said. The deal includes MASN transferring to the new ownership group. The Angelos family will stay involved, although Rubenstein will become the designated “control person” once the deal is approved by MLB owners. This could happen by late spring.

I hope this begins a new era of getting along with the already relatively softbally press around here. It's not that difficult. Just recognize everyone is doing their job, be as transparent as you can, and stay out of the spotlight as much as possible.

Probably after they do some upgrades to the stadium. Figure maybe three or four years from now
