And I'd like for enough other righties to be hitting well (Mr. Mayo perhaps...) to make McCann C Adley DH a completely unappealing choice in October.

The O's appear to think they will be bringing in a LHP, in which case McCann is usually the starter. You are right though, McCann has been starting the majority of Burnes starts lately.

To date, Burnes has a 2.37 ERA when McCann catches him and 2.34 with Adley.   So, I don’t know why Burnes would care, but maybe he does.

I don't think so. Sounds like they plan to use Bowden Francis in bulk relief. Burnes just hates Adley and his meeting at the baseline at the conclusion of each inning.

I think they use their best pitcher with their least potent offense to balance out the odds.

I only looked at 1997, but Perez did indeed catch each of Maddux's starts in the playoffs. Not sure why, but in one game, Perez started and Lopez PH for him in the first inning.

Odd that our lineup would appear to be the RHB stack. Richards is a slight reverse split guy but not severe. He last pitched in relief of Manoah, a LHP no longer on the roster. I would have to guess a lefty will be coming in for Richards. We will see.

For the sake of accuracy, Manoah is a RHP.

Probably just due to Burnes hating Adley, Hays hitting 2 HR last night and Mountcastle history in Toronto.
