Dunno... Prayed for Gunnar in his 1st career at bat to be blessed, and display talent he has been given, and he hits a home run. Prayed for Grayson Rodriguez to be blessed and have what he needs while he was pitching on a Sunday night in City Connect jerseys, and then he goes out and is able to perform at a supreme level, winning the game 1-0.

In my lifetime I have experienced countless examples similar to that. Repeatedly. At some point it stops becoming coincidental and falls into the parameters of things observed.

What the hell did you pray for in the ALDS last year?

Not sure if I ever watched it from start to finish.  It didn’t grab me.   I went for the Jesus walking on water joke.  What can I say?

Heh nothing wrong either way, but man, that’s one of my favorite sports movies of all time. It’s up there with necessary roughness.

I’ll go with “The Natural”.  The only baseball movie I ever watched more than once.  Fields of Dreams too.

Actually yes. I don't remember doing that. And for the record, I did not pray for Jackson today either. My mind has been on other personal issues.

Well I’ll be praying that whatever you are going through goes well. Sometimes this silly game can be the outlet we don’t know we need. To be quite terribly honest, I lost my mother a week ago and I can not tell you what a needed outlet this team has been for my father, brother and I.

i think back to @Roy Firestone and his beautiful summation as to why baseball means anything at all. In fact, I read his beautiful write up to my brother and father. Baseball can be cathartic so whatever is happening in your life, I pray it goes well.

Thank you, Brother. If only you knew details. The Orioles have been a great distraction and source of positivity this past year.

Jesus Saves -- but only only if...

  • He pitches at least one inning to victory with his team up by three runs, or
  • He enters the game with the tying run in the on-deck circle, at the plate or on the bases, or
  • He pitches at least three innings to finish a victorious game

Hilarious! Man if that could fit on a shirt, I’d wear it. One time, scouring a goodwill in Houston Texas, I found a shirt that was like 3 sizes too large but the damn thing said “Jesus loves the Orioles” and had this majestic almost stick figure drawing of Jesus with an O’s cap on. I bought it instantly but through subsequent moves was lost in the shuffle. Anyway, hilarious man.
