And the Oopsie of the day goes to.... *drum roll*

Brian Roberts for his steal of 2nd base:

:D

My already low view of Mike Schmidt as a 3rd base coach just got even lower. That was the PERFECT time to steal as it eliminated the game ending double play. B-Rob did the right thing.

First off, it's Mike Schmidt. Secondly, who said it was Schmidt's call?

I would assume it was Davey's, but I really don't know.

Do you think any of these other countries have the WBC on a channel you have to pay for? I'd put money on America being the only country that it's not televised on basic channels.

ESPN Deportes is free?

and Netherlands and perhaps Italy might not have aired the games at all.

According to Jeff Blair of the Toronto Globe and Mail, the Blue Jays have signed right-hander Leon Boyd to a minor league contract.

Boyd, 25, closed for The Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic, posting a 2.25 ERA in four innings of work. He also pitched for the Dutch during the 2008 Olympics and collected the team's only win.

Good for Boyd.

ESPN Deportes is an American channel. I'd be quite interested to see how the broadcast of these teams games go in their home country.

Good thing he didn't get caught. And wow, it was close.

Yadi Molina may be the best defensive catcher in the game, and it was close. I think a good tag would have got him; it appeared to me that Brian's hand slid right under a nearly stationary glove.

Whether it was the right call or not -- trying to steal against Molina is always risky -- it's the 3rd base coach's job to make sure that all his players are familiar with the signs. Schmidt is a "celebrity coach".

Move Billy Ripken over to 3rd; he would always take the game seriously. I don't get the impression that Schmidt does.

Wow, I get negative rep for posting a link to watch WBC. (Worked the entire time I used it for the USA game.)

I’m sorry if it didn’t work for some of you but seriously, negative rep for trying to help people out without the MLB Network! I’m trying to help people watch the great game of baseball and it backfires. I even said; please don’t blame me if it stops working - these links tend to freeze at times. Please find links on your own then as I will not search for them anymore.
