DCab's batting 1.000!

My Nats fan friend just emailed me to point out that DCab got a hit today in his only AB. Jair Jurrjens should retire tonight in shame.

Rumors are that Jurrjens regrets his decision not to play for the Dutch in the WBC, and now that teams can make roster adjustments for the second round, he is considering leaving spring training to join the Dutch team, and the Braves are said to be OK with that.

Pop the cap on a Presidente!

Got to love the Washington Post description:

"...against Jurrjens, he stepped in and slapped a ball on a line to right field. A single. And it is simply a tragedy that TBS is not broadcasting this game, because it appeared Cabrera had never ever run at all as he tore off to first. He arrived in something of a crab-walk there, almost stumbling over the bag."

OR

"...his unusually awkward stumble to first base -- his 6-foot-9 frame seemingly gangling in dozens of directions -- the event sent the Nationals' dugout into near hysterics..."

Cabrera eventually came around to score, and the link describes his advance to second base as "think giraffe on roller skates".

Poor DCab. He finally gets a hit and they still find reasons to make fun of him for it.
