I’d be surprised if it’s not Bradish to the IL.  Hoping it’s just a tired arm but the fact that they’re being so coy raises alarms for me.

Hopefully, it’s one of Vespi, Tate, or Akin, that gets optioned. Akin could use a de-load himself, but do we trust Vespi enough has a back end arm?  He’s been great the past two seasons as a shuttle arm. Holding LHH to a .430 OPS.

For pitchers, is it a 10 day IL or longer? If it's just 10 day, then IL Bradish. He misses two starts that go to Povich. That's not that big of a deal.

Vespi was just optioned, so no IL for Bradish at this point.

This is good news in my opinion. If they really thought Bradish was done or needed to go on the IL, they would have used this opportunity to keep the extra "longish guy" in the pen. Hopefully this means whatever is bothering Bradish they are hoping with a little rest they can get him back on the mound. This may just be that kind of year where they continually have to nurse him through this season.

Yea..wouldn’t make sense to say, we will just get Vespi right back up as an injury replacement because you may need him today.

I also never bought into Bradish being hurt. Sounds like this was a planned thing.

I still think it would have been crazy not to IL Bradish immediately if he had a torn UCL. So this makes me feel a bit better. There’s still clearly an issue that they aren’t telling us about though.

Yea, maybe he has a tired arm and needs days off.  They have already said they want to give him a few extra days rest.
