Then they lost 3/5 of their rotation. If the Yankees rotation stays healthy they can avoid the Rays' fate.

Yankees need Judge to stay healthy and to a lesser degree Stanton. Soto also has some injury history, but he's been healthy since the start of 2023. I'll be surprised if all three of them make it through the season without at least one of them making an IL stint.

Gil is on an innings limit, he won't be pitching for them in September unless they want to ruin his arm.

Are you suggesting that on June 5th, 2023 when the Rays were 43-19 and we were 39-20 and 4.5 games back you knew the Rays weren't a good team?

No, but the Rays have been unusually unlucky with injuries, both last year and this year.  Now the Yankees have both Soto and Judge raking and maybe will get back to Cole soon.  Even before getting Cole back they lead the league in both pitching ERA and hitting OPS.  This is a different Yankee team.

On top of that, the Orioles keep getting stung by the starting pitching injury bug.

The O's could overtake the Yankees but it feels more difficult than in awhile.

No.
I’m repeating a common theme, which is that last year was last year and this year is this year.
But if you recall, the Rays started 13-0. That means they went 30-19 afterwards, so yes, they were slowing down, and yes, we were catching up.

That’s not happening right now. Actually, the New Yorks are slowly growing the gap.

No, we're actually 2.5 games behind NYY not 4.5 behind Tampa like we were in 2023. If you think the Yankees are going to play .700 ball, well, good for you. I can assure you, they will not.

If we lose Bradish, it will be hard to catch the Yankees, unless someone unforeseen steps up and pitches well...
