Tigers now have the lead 4-3 going into the Top of the 9th. Rays have their 5-6-7 hitters coming up. 

Tigers may very well win every game left on their schedule.

Tigers have an excellent bullpen, excellent starting pitching + strategy, very good defense, and a solid enough offense with upside. They're the team to beat. They matchup really well against the O's. Too many lefty pitchers.

So KC plays the Braves (who are fighting for a WC) and DET plays the White Sox.  Advantage DET.

O's w/ 4 games left (Yankees, 3 against the Twins)

Tigers have 3 left against the White Sox

Royals have 3 left against the Braves

Tigers have a cakewalk in front of them. Very real chance they end up 88-74. O's currently 88-74, but Tigers have the tie-breaker.

O's gotta squeak out a win in these next 4. 

White Sox might sweep the Angels, but that's not saying much. The last time the White Sox beat a team with a winning record (or close to a winning record) was the Red Sox back on 9/8 and before that the O's 8-1 on 9/4. They're at least playing well against the Angels now, so hopefully that carries over. But I strongly doubt it.

I believe the KC & Detroit wins eliminate the Mariners.   And put another Nail in the Minnesota coffin.

Twins most realistic angle is win out and KC loses two to Atlanta.

You make it sound like a difficult task or something.   We haven't had a 4 game losing streak since before the All Star Break, as badly as we've played.   Don't expect we will suddenly have one now.

We need to make sure we win one more game so that we host the WC series.   

KC holds the tiebreaker over Detroit, so if Detroit is tied or up by only one game on Sunday, they will face an interesting choice regarding Tarik Skubal.  If I'm not mistaken, Skubal pitched on Tuesday, so his turn comes up again on Sunday.  If the Tigers have to use him Sunday then he's not available to pitch in the WC round.  

How much does Detroit prefer playing us versus playing Houston?  If they don't care, then they will probably hold Skubal out on Sunday and let the chips fall where they may.   It doesn't look likely that Detroit will need to win on Sunday just to make the playoffs.
