I think EBJ’s stint at Bowie already has overwritten his time at Aberdeen.   He ended the season on a very positive note.   That’s not to say he shouldn’t go to the AFL.   Maybe he will.

With all the trades from the farm system is there any chance we get the wishlist for the AFL?

Hitters - Basallo, Beavers, EBJ

Pitchers - McDermott, maybe a guy or two that has to be added to the 40 man to avoid the rule 5. Like Hoffman, or Strowd. Just to get a longer look to see if they’re worth adding.

0% chance you get all three of those hitters.   I put EBJ at 40%, Beavers at 20%, and Basallo at 10%.    If they want Basallo to get more reps, he’ll just play some winter ball back home.

I do remember seeing that Basallo went #1 overall in the winter league draft last year. So that will probably be where he ends up. Heck, that’s probably better competition.

I would say it’s without a doubt better competition.   Many current and former ML players in the winter leagues.   The Arizona Fall League is basically AA.

The guys we send doesn't look like a "finishing school" approach to me.  

Maybe the P's will put in a good showing because there's a solid list of top talent representing other teams.

Houston Roth is the only pitcher that has any promise right now. Not entirely sure why he repeated Bowie, but he should be in line to be at Norfolk next season. He did miss a month or so with an ankle injury in July, so that might have something to do with it. Has a high strikeout to inning rate, was also a starter who got converted to long relief and closer at times.

I believe Hodo and Cunningham were both drafted in that rd 4-10 range that has taken some criticism because of taking fringe bats instead of arms of any kind.

Don’t sleep on Willems. In his age 20 season, as a C, he hit 17 HR and put up a .784 OPS across A+ and AA. 

Not too shabby. He got that big bonus, and the feeling was that we settled on him and got left holding the bad because I think McLean and another underclassmen didn’t sign. Willems also struggled at first. Also, he’s a pudgy dude. I prefer stocky. 

All that is the past though. He’s a pretty solid prospect as a LH C. 

Feels underrated. Especially after the graduations and trades.
