It would make sense. I think there are four possibilities for not announcing Eflin yet:

1. It’s going to be Eflin, we’re just waiting to announce to make it harder for Tigers/Royals to prepare.

2. Hyde and FO are discussing whether to slot Eflin for game 3 to possibly save him for ALDS game 1.

3. Hyde and FO are discussing a possible opener strategy for game 2.

4. Eflin has some minor aches/pains/soreness so we’re delaying the announcement to make sure he will be healthy enough.

Probly waiting to see for sure who we are playing....then maybe throw Povich out there.

The White Sox are up against the Tigers 9–4.

And Braves top of lineup just left two on base in the bottom of 7th.  Royals are now probably 2 to 1 favorites or better to come to Camden.

After the Witt strikeout.

From a pure win expectancy it’s an 83% chance that it will be the Royals (84.4% Royals win X 98.5% White Sox win). However, I don’t believe that takes into account the identity of the teams so our chances of playing the Royals may be slightly lower.
