I like Cindy's agreement today with Tony's post from 4-20-06.

That said, I think Markakis's slow start last year has immunized us (& him) a bit from worrying about any slow start this year. There's not much to point to him as being a fluke...his steady progression through the minors shows an adaptive, improving ballplayer.

Yeah, that was a classic!

Cindy, I'm sorry for making fun of you, and I realize you're going through a hard time. But what you said was flippin' hilarious.

Anybody who saw Markakis enough through the first two and a half months last year could tell he was overmatched and honestly didn't belong at the ML level. The arguments here at the time that he was brought up to fast and the concern that he could have his confidence shaken were valid. Now that he has proven himself at this level he gets a lot more slack to begin the year.
