Recommended Posts

Never too early to look at this as the Orioles continue to slide down the standings in the AL and up the draft board.

As of 6/7

1. Washington

2. Baltimore

3. Cleveland

4. Kansas City (tie breaker)

5. Colorado

6. Arizona

7. Oakland

8. Houston

9. San Diego (tie breaker)

10. Pittsburgh

Wow . . . we are in third now? I guess I haven't been paying attention.

Oh well . . . though it is incredibly too early to know . . . seems like another weak class next year.

Just think though, by next Friday we can start dissecting next year's crop ;)

Harper will look pretty good at 1B or 3B in a few years.

I think that Harper is only draft-eligible in 2011... which means that if we get him, we'd be the worst team in 2010. I'm not sure I'd like that.

And JTrea, you listed Cleveland twice.

Isn't next year's crop supposed to be great?

Word is Harper may be seeking a rare 'out', and make himself eligible in 2010 via a Junior College.

Yes, but he could pull a "Matt Purke" and demand so much money that realistically the only team that could take him would be one of the deep pocketed teams later in the first round too ;)
