Roll Tide
Right, meaningless. Develop a guy for years, all the way through the minors in the outfield and then switch him to first baseman as he gets to AAA where he has to learn basically everything about fielding first like positioning, foot work, toss to pitchers, scooping throws, pitchoff throws, etc. Makes no sense to me. Sounds like what we have been talking about with Scott. Probably not that easy and takes a lot of time to get good at it. If the O's want a corner infielder, they should trade for a corner infielder. He would go to first base ...Phillies kept him in the OF because they have Howard at 1B. Are you certain he only played the OF in college ball? Roll Tide
Taylor could be used to pry away Forsythe or Darnell from SD, or put in a package to get AGon from SD.Either way, SD is where I'd look to deal him. They don't have a use for Sherrill really but Taylor is somebody they could really want. Personally I'd keep him & move him to 1B.

Elon Os Fan
Looks like Wood would probably be in play straight up for Sherrill www.mlbtraderumors.com Talking about names thrown out there for Halladay. Additionally, the Angels have reportedly traded these names with the Blue Jays: Erick Aybar, Kevin Jepsen, Brandon Wood, Jeff Mathis, Bobby Wilson, Sean Rodriguez, Jered Weaver and others. Elon Os Fan
Would Wood and Rodriguez be too much. That could make our future left side of the infield......

I seriously doubt Mcphail trades Sherrill foe Wood straight up ...Looks like the Dodgers might get it done.

I wouldn't do that deal either. I like Wood, but he's been a bit soured by his poor play in ML so we should be able to get another player at least. JayThomas
Well, Ibanez, Victorino and Werth are their starters. Mayberry is young and did well during the Ibanez DL time.Stairs has 4 HR's in 69 AB's, not really that special. And he is 41 yo. Maybe 4 HR's in 69 AB's isn't that special to you, but that works out to 31.5 HR's over 550 AB's, and the O's haven't had anyone on that pace in a long time. Then I was instructed he would be put on their bench, and I asked in replace of who, and I was told Stairs....
