If the Orioles return to the postseason again in my lifetime, I will undoubtedly be turning off the volume on my tv and listening on the radio. I can't imagine having to listen to guys like Buck and McCarver during an Orioles world series, talking to fans like they are clueless.

I can't imagine who at HBO thought giving Joe Buck his own talk show was a good idea. Talk shows are a dime a dozen, people often tune in just for the personality of the host.

I agree with rshack's description of him as an "empty suit."

I did hear Buck say something that is poetic, no matter the voice: "and Derek Jeter does not come through in the ninth."
