Come on. How about a Vote (of confidence) for Pedro? I wasn't against the O's signing Feliz, but I'm not going to worry about losing him either.

Feliz is gone.

If Beltre isn't an option, I would hope we can work something agreeable out for Kouzmanoff or Gordon.

I don't think it matters if Bell is better than Gordon/Kouz. If one of Bell & Snyder doesn't work out we'll be covered. If they all do, let them fight to see who gets their PT at 3B, 1B & DH. By using all three spots, they'll get starter PT, it's just a matter of where.

I'm not the type to take a die hard stance and say "MacPhail needs to do one of these things, or he's not doing his job", but I'd want him to be looking into these moves and I'm glad the rumor mill says that he is.

Also the Cardinals. Larussa likes Tejeda.

Does this drive Tejada's and every other 3B options' price up or down? Also if we get Crede, who else are we going to get to play the other 100 games next year? I like Kouzmanoff, but with that young GM I think a trade is going to be tough.

Well, the Pads are definitely looking for a CF'er. I read that they want a RH hitting CF but I suppose it's possible that they might have some interest in Felix Pie. Would Pie for Kouzmanoff be a fair deal?

Could be. AM hinted that most of his moves this offseason would be the result of trades and that many of those could be predicated on teams looking to dump salary. Kouz is certainly more than just a stopgap. I like him.

Really? What's to like?

He looks like a league average 3B who hits some homers, never gets on base, and strikes out a ton. And at 27 years old, it is unlikely he changes the OBP. Melvin Mora's are not common.

Unless he can be acquired for another Chris Ray, I'll stick Wigginton at 3B and hope Bell crushes the ball at Norfolk.

There is appeal.

He has worked very hard to turn himself into a good glove at the hot corner. FWIW, he got GG votes in 2009.

At the plate, there is reason to believe that his numbers will look much better once he leaves Petco. His home/road splits have always been bad. His plate discipline will never be great, but I would expect his average to come, which will help his OBP. Look at his splits & his minor league averages. He's not a .250 hitter.

The Kouz isn't an All-Star player, be he's a solid player that I would be very interested in if the price is right. That's the key. Ozzie Newsome has a great slogan - Right Player, Right Price.

What about Derosa? Macphail hinted about a guy who can move from third base when Bell is ready.

I like him, too. But his versatility also makes him a popular guy. He'll have a number of suitors and I expect he'll choose to go to a contender. I don't expect we have much chance there unless we're offering double the money.

As long as by "more", you mean "less".

*Puts on Astros hat* PE-DRO! PE-DRO! PE-DRO!

You won't find me defending his bat, but the glove and especially the one year part is appealing if the organizational people are really sold on Bell sticking long-term. Losing him to the Astros isn't worth losing sleep over in any case.
