Seems like Boston has been trying to get rid of Lowell for awhile now and just can't do it.

Feel bad for the guy though, he's a class act, he's done well in Boston, WS MVP and all they've done is try to get rid of him at any chance they get.

That's a shame for Lowell, but is it wrong to be a little happy? A division rival doesn't get what they thought they traded for AND they won't have Lowell either. I imagine he might be out most of the year.

They'll just DL him and sign Beltre. Or they'll get a 1B (Gonzalez, Cabrera) and slide Youk over to 3rd.

He'd be a great 1 year stop gap for the O's at 3rd. Move Atkins over to 1st and be done. He's only out 6-8 weeks, so should even be ready for Spring Training. The Rangers would have only been on the hook for $3m.
