Shades of J. Henry Waugh. It's next to impossible that Robert Coover knew about this, but I suppose both Coover's novel and Kerouac's secret hobby speak to a common impulse that later generations satisfied with strat-o-matic and apba.

And I love that Pancho Villa plays center for the Boston Fords.
