I really hope the Twins aren't regretting this deal 6 years from now when he's a 33 year old catcher.

That said, this is a move they had to make, they needed to keep their home-grown guy and they got the job done.

I am so glad to see Minnesota do this...I never really doubted they would and I am really happy they got it done.

They are one of my favorite organizations...I feel for them losing Nathan but this is a nice break from that bad news.

They signed their Cal Ripken, so you can't blame them for doing it.

A lot of years for a catcher, but yeah, Mauer is of great importance to the Twins in multiple ways, so good move and I'm glad this has happened.
