I like the booing

Hey, anyone getting paid millions and sucking at their job deserves all the booing they can get. This is the same city where fans cheered Kyle Boller getting hurt for the simple reason that he sucked so bad they wanted anyone to replace him thus increasing their team's chance of winning. That is rapidly what is coming to pass here with Gonzales. If DT isn't smart enough to see that then he should not be long in his job either. Let him go back to being the Bullpen coach or whatever he was to start with.

How about the two people running on the field today?

One guy walked right next to me and kept going till he hopped the wall. I was like "WTF, you can't play right field"

Lots of talent out at Pickles/Sliders too.

Did the woman run on? From my seats, it looked like she got pulled out from the crowd and cuffed on the field.

For the record, here are some of Trembley's thoughts about the fans booing Gonzalez:

"When guys are a part of your team, you stand behind them. I don't think you gain anything by [booing]. You draw attention to the negative."

Maybe the fans are helping DT know what the negatives are.:clap3:

Good Lord. Bunch of Sally's up in here complaing about booing. Really? Booing has you upset? It's not like trash was thrown at him as he exited. Grow a pair.

He has been horrible. I realize it is a very small sample size, but it's the only thing we have to go on. We're 1-3 and would be 3-1 with a successful closer. Even the game we won last night, Gonzales almost gave it away.

This is a sport and every paying fan in the stadium had the right to voice their displeasure. Most people took off work and made a day out of going to the Yard today. We watched a hard fought game for over 2 and a half hours only to see Mike Gonzales come in and give the game away. Again.

I'm glad there was booing. I wish there was more. I hope Trembley hears the boos as he's falling asleep tonight and McPhail got the message too.

This team has become a complete joke over the past decade and gets absolutely no respect from anyone out of this area. I was ashamed to walk out of the stadium today in my Orioles attire.

It is not a matter of logic. He should not have been emotionally abused by some of the fans in his first ever appearance at OPACY. It was morally wrong to treat him like that.

He should have been welcomed, regardless of his performance. That would have gone a lot further toward helping him to improve his future performances. As it is, the way he was treated may only make it harder for him to take the mound at OPACY and close games.

Morally wrong? Emotionally abused? :laughlol: I think your blowing it a bit out of proportion.

Hes a professional athlete and he got booed for performing poorly. It happens somewhere in the world of sports almost every night. Its not the first time hes been booed and it wont be the last. It comes with the territory. He know exactly why they are booing, and he knows how to stop it.

"It is what it is," he said. "I really don't put much thought into that. I go out and get 10 straight, 11 straight, and you're not hearing the boos anymore. That's not the problem for me.
Those who claim that they were entitled to unload a decade's worth of their frustration on this poor man are full of crap. They are not entitled to a whipping boy.

You do know hes making 6 million dollars a year, right? He made over $37,000 dollars today for showing up to the stadium! But you feel bad for "this poor man" because he got booed?

I do blame the fans. It shows a lack of class to boo 4 games into the season. You want to know how to show your displeasure to the FO and the manager? Don't go to the games and don't buy the merchandise. It does no good at all to boo a player who's making an effort.

This just sounds rediculous to me. Rather than booing Gonzo/Trembley for being horrible at their jobs we should just stop supporting the entire team?

Screw that.

Maybe it was the weather. Maybe it was the fact that some scalper sold me a used ticket. Maybe it was the fact that our closer is by far the wildest pitcher on our team.

I don't really care. Once he was out there doing the same exact crap we've seen in every single game, I booed. I can't believe I took off work for this crap. The guy even managed to spoil any feel good effects of our single win... mainly because we knew we'd lose again at his hands.

I thought she jumped on her own. I wish the cops would of leveled the guy.

About 6 or 7 years ago a fan is his underwear stood at home plate and pointed to leftfield and a cop came in and hit him like Ray Lewis, it was comical.

All I saw was the woman being escorted in cuffs through the tunnel. I just assumed she ran on the field. I was watching the jackass in the Markakis tee.

I know, right? They're 1-3. What an awful, shameful team. Season's over.

People are upset about today's loss and with good reason, but there's 158 games left to play. I'm not saying the O's are going to compete for a pennant or anything, but I don't think I've ever seen this many people jump off the ledge four games into a season.

I don't feel bad for him, that doesn't mean I agree with it. I just don't get the booing in introductions and when he went out of the bullpen before the 9th inning. It just makes no sense. It's not like this is mid-May and he had been terrible for 6 weeks.

"When guys are a part of your team, you stand behind them. I don't think you gain anything by [booing]. You draw attention to the negative."

This is why I could never be a manager. I'm afraid I'm too logical. My feeble brain goes like this:

"Okay, we're winning the home opener going into the 9th inning. Not only has my closer been extremely shaky, but he threw 30 pitches last night and Johnson just blew through the 8th inning on like 9 pitches. I really don't want to lose this game, so I'll leave Johnson in there. He's rollin'."

Then when the media asked me why I didn't use my closer, I'd say, "Well, he threw 30 tough pitches last night in Tampa and he's due a little bit of a rest. We need to get him some side sessions to pull his mechanics together a little bit. He's still our closer, but I thought JJ made the most sense given what Gonzalez has been through the past few days."

Isn't Jason Frasor Toronto's closer? WTF was Kevin Gregg doing out there today!?!?!? Whacky Cito Gaston, not using his closer in a save situation!!!

I was standing right there when they cuffed him. They cop motioned for him to come over and he did.

The cop said to us that if he would've just jumped back and tried to walk out of the stadium they would've let him. Now they were going to charge him.

Can I be your bench coach?
