Can someone tell me why Kyle Loshe is in LF while the SS pitches for St. Louis?

There probably were no position players left on the bench and they don't want Lohse to actually pitch. Though theoretically now that he's in LF he could pitch if Lopez gets in trouble without anyone coming out of the game.
