They aren't slumping they are just not as good as everyone on here makes them out to be.

I agree, but alot basically suck right now. MacPhail starts moving players down and up and we will rebuilding for another five years. The Orioles always hype up the players. They have been doing that for 8 or 9 years ,now. The Orioles minor leaguers never seem to make it to the next level.

''We felt we had some good arms coming along,'' Beattie said. ''We went through some growing pains with them last year.''

This will be MacPhail's quote next year about the bats. We run in circles and chase out tail.

I'm a little surprised by the tone of MacPhail's remarks. They almost sound more like a threat than a factual statement.

No kidding. That's about the most threatening thing I've ever heard him say for such a low-key, patient guy.

For MacPhail, that's the equivalent of putting a horse head in someone's bed.

According to some posters on here he is the next Carlos Pena.

Dude stop trolling. Either offer something to the conversation or stop posting. But this baseless crap you are spewing is getting annoying.

As for AM, I agree with Paul and Frobby, it is very surprising to see him so "threatening". It just doesn't seem his style. I don't really know what else he can do this early other than bring up Patterson or Gathright. Yuck.

Different scenario...but yes, it should be the same as it was in March.

Wait, didn't you start a thread about how he may be cheap since he was sent down? Something's not connecting here. And how is Gordon's situation different than Reimold or Jones if they get sent down?

1) KC is not a smart organization.

2) Gordon has had a few down years due to injury/poor play.

3) Reimold and Jones have struggled for this year...yes, Jonesy did struggle in the second half last year but the tools and age are on his side and GMs love him.

4) Gordon will start to be expensive soon.

Didn't Andy say in the off-season he was going to surround the young players with good hitters...... He didn't do a very good job with that did he  So, why is he blaming the young players he failed to support?
Because its idiotic to think that Jones and Reimold are struggling because they "aren't supported".

They seemed to do just fine last year without support.

The players playing poorly isn't MacPhail or Trembley's fault. Its the player's fault.

The only bad thing on this roster than MacPhail is responsible for, IMO, is Atkins. Everything else he did was pretty solid. It was never going to make us a contender this year, but we should have been able to be a pretty decent offensive club to go with our solid pitching. Unfortunately two key guys got hurt and three other key guys are completely crapping the bed at the plate. If Roberts, Pie, Reimold, Scott, and Jones were healthy and/or producing at even a bit below expected, we'd be hitting just fine.

He is the only bad thing? Really?

The guy who is out hitting Jones, Reimold, and Scott is the ONLY bad thing MacPhail is responsible for?
