I Don't Cry Easily But This Story Always Gets Me! The Chicken Runs At Midnite!

I like to think of myself as sort of a tough guy, having spent 17 years as a Correctional Officer in one of the largest State of Maryland Prisons but this story never fails to bring tears to my eyes. For those of you who have never read or watched the tv program featuring it, or heard about it previously, you are in for a treat but get yourself something to dry your eyes!

This is the 2nd time you've started this, and the 2nd time you haven't been able to link to the proper story on espn.com

Which article should I be looking for, here? The one on Bernie Carbo?

EDIT: Here's the proper link: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=kurkjian_tim&id=5185677

Thanks for posting the link but when I did my original one it worked for me. However, I agree when I checked today it was Bernie Carbo and that mystifies me. Sorry, I am not a computer guru. However, neither do I feel the need to act like a total a jerk when I help somebody out. There was absolutely no need for that whatsover. Heaven forbid people like you would ever make an honest mistake. :(

Powerful story.

This reminds me of shortly after Rod Carew's daughter died of bone cancer. He appealed for people to get tested as possible bone marrow donors to increase the possible matching options that people had when a loved one was diagnosed with this type of cancer.

I always regretted not having the test done... but it's obviously never too late.

Great story OldFan!
