Luck...the NL West isn't that good, neither are they.

Their pitching has some astonishing ERA, like 2.64. They don't have much of an offense. It's not sustainable, though it's kind of fun at the moment.

Having heard a couple of interviews with Jed Hoyer, I get the feeling he knows it won't last, but he doesn't want to pop anybody's balloon (and really, why would he?). It's making it nigh impossible for him to trade Gonzalez, though. There would be a riot.

28-19, first place in the NL West. The walk off home run Jerry Hairston Jr. hit the other day against the Cards was pretty sweet as well.
