I hate watching him hit. He stinks.

This guy was called "the savior", and even "Jesus" by some.

He can't hit.

Why is this?

Possibilities:

1. He'll be o.k. He just needs more time and experience.

2. He'll be o.k. He just needs to completely overhaul his swing.

3. He'll be o.k- for another team. He just needs to play for a team other than the Orioles, so the reverse Midas Touch wears off.

4. He won't be o.k. His swing just isn't cut out for Major League pitching.

I'm not sure whether or not the long swing is bad. I mean, Raffy had a long swing and he hit just fine.

I heard one person talking about how the length of the swing doesn't matter, it's just a matter of how long the bat is actually in the hitting zone.

But yeah, Wieters is quickly closing in on Jones for the most disappointing season.

So that ball he hit int he 8th is a few feet to the right and he's the hitting hero with the big home run. Nothing wrong with that swing.

Jones has been picking it up lately in case you haven't noticed. It would not surprise me at all if Jones finshes around 285-290 with 20 homers or so. I will take that anyday from our centerfielder.

Wieters defense has been outstanding. Maybe next season his bat will catch up.

That ball actually ticked the foul pole.

You could see it on the replay - I'm surprised nobody else picked up on that. Oh right, nobody's watching.

Closing in? I think he passed him a while ago.

Here's an idea:

<img src = "http://misterirrelevant.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Matt-Wieters-SI.jpg">

JINX.

See, the national media just HATES the Orioles. I mean, we're just loathed up and down all over the place. Therefore, the good people at SI decided to ruin the future to our franchise by putting him smack dab in the middle of their cover, known for the hexes it puts on athletes.

How's that for a conspiracy theory, Trea and MSK?
