Velocity - to reach the big leagues you have to hit 90 mph at a minimum

Command - if you can achieve the velocity the command is next in importance

Movement this is equal to command in importance, and most important if a knuckleball pitcher.

Did you see Tillman? If so, what was his problem? I wasn't even going to enter this thread because I didn't see him pitch and really don't know what his problem was (mechanics, curve not breaking properly, over-throwing fastball, etc.)

Doug Fister says hello.

And Tillman gets optioned to Norfolk. :D

This organization is clueless. They need to can every single coach at the major league level. None of them seem to have a clue what they are doing IMO. Jerking a guy around like a puppet on a string isn't going to help anyone get better.

Millwood is coming off the DL on Thursday. The options are to send Tillman down, or send Bergesen down. Either way, someone is getting yo-yoed.

Why not give Millwood a rehab start I wonder?

They asked Samuel this very question...

"Millwood was traded for to be a pitcher for this ballclub, and Millwood likes to pitch," Samuel said. "The times that we've been able to have Millwood out of the rotation, we have to talk to him. He earned that right with all he's done in the game. We are taking that into consideration, that Millwood is a pitcher, he's going to pitch. And the times that we feel like we might need to get Tillman in there, that's what we've done. But Millwood has earned the right to pitch."
