This board cracks me up. That JTREA dude starts the same thread 1000 times and it's cool. This dude starts the same thread 1000 times and gets shouted at by everyone. Both are equally stupid, why can't they be treated equally?

Wwwwwhhhhhhaaaaattttttt? Dude do a little search and see how Trea gets shouted at. How about a little research before slinging arrows?

Can't believe there isn't any discussion of Matusz after yet another dreadful start. I don't see how they can keep him in the rotation. I believe he needs to spend the rest of the year at AAA with Tillman. I was shouted down in May for posting that I though he would be nothing more than a situational lefty out of the bullpen, but do any of you guys still believe he should remain in the ML rotation???

SEND HIM DOWN! Lordy almighty if it was Tillman, Hernandez, Bergeson or Arietta he would have been long gone by now. Why the heck does he get a pass? He needs to go down there so he can stop looking like Garett Olson's twin and throw some frigging strikes! He acts like he's afraid to throw the ball over the plate anymore. And I don't want to here how good he looked the first three innngs. He totally destroyed all of that in the 4th.

Why would you skip him a start?

His velocity was back last night. He said he felt good and that was obvious for those first 3 innings.

He just missed 10 days or so due to the AS break.

Last night, he got pulled entirely too early..Maybe he would have ended up giving up 5 or 6 runs...or maybe he throws a DP ball, gets out of the inning and goes on to pitch 6 or 7 innings while only giving up a few runs?

Samuel and Kranny made an awful decision last night and now we have one of our 2 normal Matusz trolls starting a thread that has no substance or intelligence behind it. Samuel and Kranny screwed us all twice with one move...Thanks guys! :)

for all the so smart posters to answer my simple question:

At one point do you stop sending Matusz out evey 5 days in the O's rotation.

If he has 4 more consecutive bad starts giving him an 8 start stretch with an ERA over 14.... would you send him out again???

I suspect Showater will have less patience than OH posters.

He is past the point. Either send him down or move him to the pen.

For several reasons that you just don't want to comprehend or understand. Don't ask questions that you don't want the answers to.

From the Sun:

I was little bit shocked because it was so soon, and my first few innings I was so effective,” Matusz said. “Things were going so well. I still felt pretty good at that point. I was a little upset. Obviously nobody likes coming out of the game, especially when you have good stuff and that’s how I felt. Juan obviously felt that it was a game that we had, we had the lead at the time, and I wasn’t capable of finishing the job, so that was the move he decided to make and obviously I wanted to stay in there and keep going. But if I don’t like it I need to stop walking guys and pitch better.”

Samuel said after the game that Matusz has become a “major concern,” though he still expects the lefty to make his next start.

“My mindset with these guys is I just didn’t want to put them in position where they could lose the ball game and you end up overexposing these guys,” Samuel said. “We’ve seen it so many times where some young guys come up and they can’t find the plate. Like I said, if I can remove these guys earlier than late, I’m going to do it just so I can protect them. He was throwing the ball so good. We just think he lost focus there for one minute and we didn’t want to leave him out there any longer.”

I actually really like that rationale by Samuel.
