Nice - he recognizes Nick as a two and uses the R/L alternating lineup. He has a few nuggets there! ;)

Career stats

Bell was self-critical following his performance against the Rangers in Texas, claiming he wasn't as aggressive as he needed to be, throwing too many off-speed pitches while yielding four runs in 3 1/3 innings. Fastball command is critical for Bell.

"You look at every job like it's your last one. This is where you want to have your career end, on your own terms, but we all know that's real naïve. I've got it. But you roll the dice. You really do. And people who have trouble with that accountability don't last very long. You do what's right, you try to treat people like you'd like to be treated, and through it all, you know that somewhere along the line, someone may not be completely happy with that."

    • Baumann nets us the Seattle Mariners #23 Prospect! McKenna was DFA'd so he's off the list too   Gotta think a trade for a top reliever is coming at some point.  I also wonder if Elias tries to flip one of Hays, Satander, or Mountcastle (depending on their performance) over the next couple months to create a little more breathing room in the depth chart
    • That may be the season aggregate. But that is not where they are now. They are so bad right now that they are making some of the worst, most struggling hitters/offenses in MLB look good. This is not the bullpen that it was back in the Yankees series. As the season has gone on, the bullpen has gotten progressively worse.
    • No doubt. The team shouldn’t stunt the growth of either of these 2 because they screwed up in the offseason.
    • The question is - If you and I and just about anyone watching can see that the guys on the roster in the pen aren’t good enough as a whole, why couldn’t those responsible for the decisions see this? Like who thought Kimbrel would be an adequate replacement for Bautista? Who thought that Cano would be as good as he was last season? Who thought that Perez was better than Baumann? Who thought that Jacob Webb was a legit 7th inning guy on a pennant contender? It appears that we have a flaw somewhere in terms of understanding the importance that a pen plays on a championship contending team. You can’t just throw anybody out there off the trash heap/waiver wire and be arrogant enough that you believe we can fix “whoever” all the team and be good enough to be the best. It looks like our decision makers are going to have to let go of a little ego and obsession with having to always be the smartest guys in the room and do what they have been resisting so long which is add substantive talent through trades.
    • Kremer hasn’t been voted off the island yet.
    • I don’t think they know anything definitive yet.  Seems like half the people here believe he’s ruptured his UCL again.  But maybe this is a Grayson-level injury that just requires him to miss a couple of turns.  I can’t say I’m optimistic about that, but we’ll see what the doctors say.   @wildcard, you can forget about that extension.
    • Guys need to chill a bit. We have one guy, Perez, with an ERA over 3.50. We don't have a Bautista/Miller type but overall the bullpen is fine. Headley was a short term move and will be gone soon. Yes, I would like us to trade for an elite arm to make us better. Also, Akin is not our best pitcher. He has an awful track record and has melted down at the worst times like everyone else. Pl ase do not move him up the hierarchy. If anything he should have been on the shuttle so we could have kept Baumann. Cano, Kimbrel, and Coulombe are the A team and should stay that way.  Kimbrel needs rest but Hyde has figured that out and adjusted.
