Couldn't forget the last series:

Game 1 @ Minnesota

Game 2 @ Minnesota

Game 3 @ New York

I haven't seen the pitching matchups listed yet. Either way, who've you got?

I honestly think the Yanks go down. One of these years they will lose to Minnesota. The Yankees have beat them in this round in 2003, 2004 and last year. I was shocked last year that Minnesota pitched so well against them. Nathan hurt them last year in game 2. I think the key to the series will be Minnesota's bullpen, at some point they will have to get big outs. I say Minnesota in 5.

Despite all of the pitching problems the Yankees have had, I just can't see the Twins overtaking them. They haven't done it before with a lot of the same guys, and I just can't see it happening now. I'd love very much for them to do it, but the Yankees just have a little more going for them in terms of experience and talent than the Twins. It will be close, but I think the Yanks make it through in 5.

This is the closest postseason series IMO. I was going to go with the Twins because I trusted their rotation more but Pavano is sporitng a 6.12 ERA in September and Liriano isn't doing much better at 4.59 (and in his last start he lasted 5 and gave up 5). Should be an interesting series and I agree that the winner will be decided in game 5.

This is a tough series to call.

Everyone is writing off the yankees starters outside of CC.

I am never ready to write off Pettitte in the playoffs..He is just money.

But I think taking them out of NY and the cold weather neutralizing some of NYs power in Minnesota will be a big key.

This series is all about Liriano for the Twins...he hasn't been pitching great but had a good year overall.

I think whoever wins game 1 will win the series....I am giving the slight edge to Minnesota.

Game 1: Sabathia vs. Liriano

Game 2: Pettitte vs. Pavano

Game 3: Hughes vs. Duensing

Pavano & Duensing both started against the Yankees last season, with Duensing having a rough outing in game one in New York. Pavano started game 3 at home and lost, but the offense couldn't get him any support.

Phil Hughes has never started a postseason game before.

This series will be uneventful... Yankees win; probably in four. Sorry.

I just can't take this Minnesota team seriously. Yes, they do a great job with the schedule they're given. Can't fault them for that. But I think to myself, 'this team would be in 4th place in the AL East this year,' and I can't bring myself to think they can really pull it out. Going into this series without Morneau is crippling.

And yes, they finish behind Boston even with all of Boston's injuries.
