The ALCS was horrendous though as it seemed I was watching YES, not TBS.

I liked TBS better overall though.

I have never found anything worse than Buck/McCarver so as long as those two are doing the broadcasts there will never be a positive from a Fox broadcast.

Seems like no one has any positives for TBS other than Cal ;)

Well I'll go with more constructive criticism. TBS does not have a good commentators but they have better directing. It's just a matter of time before Turner figures out how to do baseball and win an emmy just like the basketball show on TNT.

They are foundationally solid, they just don't have the talent. Poor Ernie Johnson is just not a play by play guy and it doesn't look like Smoltz has any future in the booth himself. He only spoke when someone asked him a direct question and his attitude sounded like "do I really have to answer? What am I doing here?"

However the extended pitch track, the solid camera work and good directing are what you would expect from a Turner Sports Broadcast. They'll come around.

FOX on the other hand has grown complacent. Obviously there are major concerns with their broadcasters (personally I consider them the worst pair in sports only slightly behind Buck and Aikman). However their directing and production of baseball has always been very solid.

They went down a few notches after watching last night's Giant's clinching win. The ball that struck out Howard was CLEARLY controversial but Buck said nothing. Then they showed the replay twice but with no pitch track and absolutely nothing coherent from Buck (he seemed generally frozen and unsure what was going on). Then they showed the pitch track of the entire at bat going pitch by pitch UNTIL THEY CUT OFF THE FINAL PITCH and went to more celebrating. It was absolutely the worst piece of sports directing I have ever witnessed. I don't care how controversial you think it is, you have to show the feed and comment on it. Buck and Tim said absolutely nothing.

FINALLY, they showed the final pitch with pitch track. Once. I almost wonder if it took them that long to edit the pitch track so that it was a borderline strike. Everything about those final moments are highly suspicious and I expected a lot more out of FOX after years of post-season experience. Shameless.

So I cast my vote for TBS. They still have a way to go but they have a solid foundation. FOX has simply coughed up whatever lead they had.
