That's awesome. Of course it would be more awesome if the Orioles were in the picture. It's amazing how few on-field photographs there are of that era. I've only seen a small handful of pictures of Union Park, where the O's played at the time.

Oh, and while the O's did lose the Temple Cup that year, not too many people really cared. They won the regular season, and that's what really counted. Most years they held the Temple Cup the games were treated like exhibitions, the teams had gentleman's agreements to split the pot equally, and the crowds were sparse, at best.

Cool photos. So am I right in understanding a team would only get the trophy if it won 3 seasons in a row? If that's the case, I think they should bring back the Temple Cup and let any team that has won 3 World Series in a row keep it until another team wins 3 in a row.

So right now the Yankees would currently be holding it, and before that the A's would have held it from 1974 to 2000.
