Its all odd who gets the massive hype machine. Adley gets it, Jackson gets it. Did Gunnar get it? Cowser and Westburg and Kjerstad got nothing and they were all well regarded first round draft picks. I feel like the hype train on Jackson this season was hatched by the Angelos group and hopefully they will look over what they did right and wrong and make some different choices. I think part of why they did not let Jackson start opening day was so he could have his OWN big day for massive ticket sales. Maybe we should wait till a kid gets a good half season of success in the Show before we print off 15k tshirts and make him the center of the universe. I know this is a MLB wide mandate to push the young kids as hard as they can because baseball does not have the attention of young people but something feels a little exploitative. Maybe just a little.

I dont think anyone dislikes him personally. I just think we have seen him for four years and we know who he is. He is a dead end. There is no upside. And we want to see the guys who might be stars. I think its that simple.

You think the shirt thing was already in the works before the sale was concluded? I think it was planned to get a huge gate on an otherwise sleepy day in April. And i don't think it was wise at least in hindsight. The kid didnt need the added pressure but its hard to imagine he would suck this spectacularly. But on the bright side we dont have to listen to Matt Holliday go around talking smack about not bringing up his amazing son who is totally ready to play right now. Now we can keep him down for as long as we want and Matt and Boras and the Players Union can go pound sand. We brought him up and he could not hit a ball to save his life. Honestly he isnt ready hitting or defensively. Norby must really not be able to play second because otherwise he would have his golden chance.

I like Ryan but he isnt good enough to for me to worry about ever seeing his face again.

Damn we got lucky. I would be furious if I was an Angel fan. Great win.

Seems that the 70's and 80's had a lot more horrible twitchy stances than todays game. Disco Dan Ford is one that springs to mind.

I think they are having a suck-in. In protest of all the heat Angel Hernandez is getting for his own suck. They are going to suck until the Fans and MLB stop proving they suck. They are scared to go with totally robot umps because it would lead to dramatic statistical differences between robots and human umps. They are scared to show us how horrible the humans always were.

And he kind of had a little smile afterwards.

Okay I will trade a horrible game for Jackson actually touching the ball. The nightmare had gotten that bad for Holliday.
