The league rejected Angelos's feelers to get out of Baltimore because the city and state put up large packages to refurbish the stadium. Thus they told Angelos they would never let him leave. Oakland was different. The league DEPENDS on the ability to blackmail host cities with the threat of leaving to maximize the owners pocketbooks. Refusing to let Oakland leave would not be in their interest. The owners need that fear to grift their host cities. Yeah its a sad day.
