How can a reasonably intelligent person even begin to think that PTSD is a funny topic?

    I know I do not:angryfire:

    I have seen the suffering:002_scry:

  2. My 3 year old daughter loves watching Os games with me, and she LOVES JJ Hardy. She talks about him so much during games that whenever my 1 year old daughter sees baseball on TV, she starts clapping and frantically yelling "JJ...JJ...JJ". I love baseball.:)

    This is AWESOMEE!!!!!!

  3. Two rants today:

    1. Able-bodied people who walk slowly. Don't you want to GET THERE, Pokey McSlowpoke????? How can you stand to move this slowly? Negative bonus points if you're jaywalking while doing this.

    2. Tourists should be banned from the Metro between 6:30-9:30am and 3:30-6:30pm. The following criteria should be cause for investigation by WMATA police for possible violations:

-fanny packs or enormous backpacks filled with sweatshirts, umbrellas, water bottles, and smashed sandwiches

-loud-patterned shirts coupled with either clunky sneakers or mismatched shorts

-standing on the #$*%^ left side of the escalator

-trying to get in the car before people have gotten off and looking baffled and put out as they glare and shove past you. Bonus: stopping dead right in the doorway to stare at a map and discuss where you're going (Answer: 8 feet to your left!)

    -huge rolling luggage sets

-talking really really loudly, usually about inane topics like whether the station labeled "Smithsonian" contains the Smithsonian museums

-taking photos of yourself and your family sitting on the train like it's the front steps of the Capitol

Public transit is great, except for the part where it involves the public.

    I really understand!!!

  4. Yeah it was a little of both this time. It was such a rotating staff that I saw a ton of people, but my daytime nurse on Thursday WAS TERRIBLE. She asked if I needed pain meds (way after my time limit for them) and I told her I did, she laughed and said, no you don't and walked away. Luckily I had 2 Physician's Assistants that were in charge of this section I was in, one for the day and one for the night, and both of them were amazing doing the Dr.'s job and picking up some nurses slack when I had the crappy ones. Had some decent nurses in there a couple times, but the bad ones were BAD.

I'm alive, which is the important thing, but I'd go 4-5 hours without seeing a human sometimes, and then when I'd have the competent ones I'd have someone poke their head in at least once an hour or so.

I am sorry.....I am glad you survived!!!!

  5. I have a Nolan Ryan rookie card but a dealer said it's worthless because it was in my guest house when it burned several years ago and smells like smoke. No damage to the card, just the smell. Is this correct?

Sangar..I am not a baseball card expert....... but let me think about how you can get that smell out.....there has got be some way!!

  6. If you're trying to buy/sell something with them they won't budge on their asking price/offer price generally. Because their store operates in a fairly wealthy area their mindset is that if I won't pay X for their card, someone eventually will come along and pay it. This is quite unlike most collectible dealers in my experience.

    Thanks

I did not know that......If I ever go there.....I will probably just look!!

  7. You'll have no problem selling ones with any sort of value ($10 or more) for way under their value at local card stores (like The Dugout in Ellicott City), but your run of the mill inexpensive cards you will have a hard time finding a buyer. Really valuable ones (like $50 or more) your best bet is ebay at first to see if you'll find someone willing to pay your buy it now price.

I considered selling a bunch of my older cards from about your time period a few years ago but was dissatisfied with the offers I was getting so I decided to just hang onto them for sentimental reasons. I bought a couple card boxes and they're stored away, not taking up any room at all.

I would love to go to the Dugout Zone someday!!!!!!!!!

  8. Does anyone know of a store or website that buys baseball cards from the 80's and 90s?

I see most places are buying pre 1970 stuff but I have thousands of cards from the 80s and 90s and would love to dump them.

SG..go to Forest Hill Sports Cards.....The owner is my friend......treat him like a King...ok???:thumbsup1::)
