  1. Smack down is coming in May. I don't follow it, but you guys make it sound like it pretty boring right now. My boys wanted to go...

I'm going to Raw in May. If it weren't for my 11 year old daughter being such a huge fan I'd be sitting at home that evening switching between Raw and whatever else might be on TV. Either the level of talent within WWE creative is at an all-time low or Vince and HHH are lost. There's so much talent on the current roster that the current storylines (or lack thereof) is inexcusable. I'm hoping the WWE gets things on the right track before then!

  2. I pretty much have zero tolerance for poor literacy, mainly of the willful variety, but there's one rampant example that really drives me up a wall. Loose. It's lose!

What burns me is the implication that these people don't read much. A great deal of grammar and syntax is learned by reading. The more prevalent loose over lose becomes, the more I think people are reading more of other people on the Net than actual books.

The festering villain in all of this is teens and text messaging. It drives my son CRAZY, but I refuse to respond to, "whr r u? pk me up plz?" When he first started doing it I insisted he spell, capitalize, and punctuate appropriately. "Nobody does that!", was his answer. "I know and it scares me to death, so at least with me, you're not going to do it."

  3. It's amazing how banks can catch things like this. I had my card # stolen and a $30 purchase at a WaWa near Philly was declined.

Meanwhile, I visit Philly a lot and always use my card and my purchases have never been declined.

    They're good.

A few years ago I travelled from Baltimore to Colorado Springs for work for three days. While I was there I used my company AmEx for a lot of purchases, but there were a few things I bought with my credit card. I flew back on a Friday, did some pre-vacation shopping Friday night, and then Saturday we flew to Orlando for Disney and Universal Studios. My card was declined at a newstand when I tried to buy us drinks. I figured it was a fluke until I got to the rental car checkout and my card was declined again. I was embarassed and scared...I immediately thought someone wiped me out, I started to panic at the thought of dipping into my savings in order to just get us back to Baltimore. The woman at the rental car counter said, "Sir? Did you let your credit card company know you'd be travelling?" I said no. She said, "Why don't you try calling them? It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a card declined because the bank suspects suspicious charges." I called them and they said, "Yes sir, we put a temporary hold on your card. We show charges in Colorado, Baltimore, and Tampa within a little more than a 24-hour period." They verified my identity and lifted the hold. At first I was pissed, but then I was relieved because of how proactively they protected my finances. Before I got off the phone, the guy I was speaking with suggested that I call them any time we're traveling out of state and that if I had any other accounts, you can request they put a hold on multi-state transactions in a short period unless you call them first. Best advice ever.

  4. Regulars that call into sports talk radio all the time.

No sir. Vehemently disagree. I absolutely LOVE "Bob from Parkville" and "Ed from Arbutus"! Even my wife likes hearing Bob! Her immediate response is always, "Oooh! Bob from Parkville! Wonder what his trembling with anger over now?"

  5. I want my mom to stop posting "cute/funny/etc." pictures to my Facebook wall but I don't have the heart to tell her. I figured deleting them might help her get the hint, but she's not getting it.

  6. Sat there from 8am until 1pm and not a single person got called. Nobody. None. !35 people at $15 a pop, and they called NO ONE. Our tax money at its best people!

If it makes you feel any better, your presence in the jury pool is actually serving a huge civic duty. Because there were 35 people in the jury pool, a defense attorne might be more inclined to push his client to accept a plea bargain rather than go to trial. That actually SAVES taxpayer money. That's $15 each well spent.

I know it doesn't make you feel any better about wasting the day, but at least you know it wasn't an entire waste. :)

  7. This commercial has made me furious. I'm not sure how others will respond. The Denny's commercial about their new menu. They have options at $2, $4, $6, and $8. There are 2 human beings (I'm not sure how to describe them without breaking board rules) that are discussing what to purchase with their $10. Then, from out of nowhere, people start suggesting different combinations based on the fact they have only $10. At the end, it seems as if these human beings have the ability to purchase quite a meal with only their $10. HOWEVER!!!!! I worked in the rest industry my whole life!!! If they only have $10 and order exactly that amount, what do they have to tip?????!!!!!! Denny's is actually promoting to not tip their service staff!!!!! :angryfire:

    I think that's a bit of a stretch, don't you?

  8. Yeah, I'm with you. Same with the "man card" thing. God forbid I do something "unmanly" and someone has to "take away" my man card.

Steer clear of the unmanly and your man card will remain safe and unquestioned. :D

  9. I really wish people would stop using the word 'crazy' as a way to amplify words.

    This burrito is crazy good.

So is the punch to your throat I'm about to dish out.

    We're in crazy agreement.
