Is there good news to read from the fact they put him on the 15 day DL?

2003. I was in the upper deck behind home plate, and I couldn't see Jay Gibbons out in RF through the snow. And, Gibbons couldn't see the ball that was hit to him shortly thereafter. After that play (which scored a run), they delayed the game finally. O's wound up winning in extras, if I'm still recalling correctly.
Believe it was Gary Matthews Jr that had the game winner, but could be dead wrong.

Anyone know what is actually happening here? If trying to have him ready to actually pitch, what timeline is?

I’m behind, but is keygans the new Belkast?

I can tell you for a fact this is real.

I am way behind on my reading here. Any reason to believe something is imminent?

Supposedly between the Jays and Dodgers. Dark horse Orioles may make a wow offer.
The wow offer made me LOL. Reminds me of the good ole days (actually, really dark days) of Belkast.

Not sure why everyone is so excited about him. The guy is 0 for his last 3!

Sort of surprised the more advanced testing isn't completed yet? I assume it is they just don't want to disclose yet for whatever reason.

I base this on nothing but my gut but I don’t think it’s more than a strain of some kind after watching the replay a bunch of times.

I also struggle to see how him leaving for another team could be perceived as competition. He announces baseball games

A non compete actually doesn’t hold up in the state of MD but I’m not sure if that would hold up if you cross state lines.
Non competes are barely enforceable anywhere anymore unless he made a boatload of money selling a company which obviously is not this scenario

I’m most worried that he will say Baltimore fans don’t appreciate me or what I do for them so F them I’m moving the team

Also remembering the "cavalry" that was supposedly coming in 2010/2011 [spoiler alert: it never came]. Buck brought us back without our best prospects panning out, at least in the roles we hoped they would. Matusz, Loewen, Spoone, Erbe, Bergesen, Arrieta, Britton [as a SP] etc

Agree with all the negative views on the comment. But to me that one decision and that more recent comment don't negate the fact that he turned us into a credible organization again after close to 20 years as a wasteland of an org.
I think he deserves a lot more credit for doing that than some people here are giving him. I really don't think we had "loaded" teams. He got more than the sum of the parts. I don't have time at the moment to look back at all our top draft picks from the late 2000s and early 2010s, but other than Manny don't recall any off the top of my head who came anywhere close to expectations. Remember guys like Wieters while very good didn't reach expectation, other high end draft picks like Loewen, Matusz, Gausman (at the time) didn't pan out. When we suddenly got good no one expected it, and was more improbably given our horrible drafting. If you look at our 2014 roster, we had two guys with over 300 PAs with OPS over 800. Our starting pitching was great that year, but it was a cobbled together (not loaded) staff that happened to work out.
If really want to not give Buck credit, I think more attribution has to be given to the division being a bit weaker those years as opposed to us being star studded.
Anyway, Buck wasn't perfect, but he was pretty damn good overall.

I hope he gets the rousing ovation he deserves tonight.
As a side note, I note in an mlb.com interview yesterday he said the following with respect to that decision he made in the 2016 postseason to bring in Ubaldo over Zack. Almost makes it sound like Britton wasn't ready or something like that (though remember at the time Britton seemed annoyed so find that hard to believe). Anyway, doesn't matter now - we're on to bigger and better things!
https://www.mlb.com/news/buck-showalter-returns-to-baltimore-for-first-time
But, with the score tied at 2 in the 11th inning, Ubaldo Jiménez entered the game and failed to record an out, ultimately allowing a three-run homer to Edwin Encarnación that eliminated the Orioles from the postseason. Seven years later, Showalter would not say why Britton was never used.
“I’ll never tell. Some things you wear. I’m not going to say things that will hurt innocent people,” Showalter said. “There are always things you could say that might make you look better, but reflect poorly on somebody else. The job description [as manager] says, ‘Wear it.’ A lot of things you must wear because your job is to protect certain things.”

It's not the best they could do.
It's all they wanted to do.
I could go out and get a really nice dinner tonight.
Or I could go to Denny's.
If I got to Denny's that doesn't mean it's the best I could do.
I think you forget how great a Dennys grand slam can be
But good point on Norris. I could’ve sworn he was good for us one year, whether in the reg season or playoffs.

I think people forget what Bud Norris did for us that first year especially…

Kyle Bradish Has Sprained UCL, Will Start Season On IL (4/9 Update: Assigned rehab assignment w/Aberdeen)

Stating the obvious, but it's not a question of whether he can pitch. It's a question as to whether he can pitch like Kyle Bradish. If not, we will regret not shutting him down and having him ready for 2025.
