  1. Dear Hanes and other makers of socks....

A sock that is made for size 12 feet does not fit people with size 6-9 feet. Please stop advertising that your socks fit size 6-12...It's not true!!! Having the heal around my achille's says so.

  2. Rant#1 - You've got to love those that relish in "being the best" when they cheated to become the best.

Rant#2 - State Farm is anything but a good neighbor...Good neighbors don't take your money in the good times, then when you need money from them, they abaondon ship.

  3. When you order a kids meal at a restaurant, why do they always serve it with a soup spoon. First, my child did not order soup. Second, the spoon is too damn big for his little toddler mouth. ...and please don't serve it scalding hot and then sit it right in front of him.

  4. People not paying their entry fees for fantasy leagues. Really says a lot about one's character imo.

As commissioner of our league, I require everyone to pay before the draft...no money and you don't draft. Fortunately I haven't had to kick anyone out of a draft and the only ones who complain are the ones most likely to not pay if the rule weren't in place. It's a simple and effective solution.

  5. I know that I don't always spell things correctly, but I can't believe how many people spell this word wrong...

    It's spelled "rIdiculous" ...not "rEdiculous"

  6. I agree partially with the sentiment, but I think the phenomenon you're experiencing might have something to do with people being more willing to donate things they don't need. Everyone needs food, so when people go out and buy food, they buy it with themselves in mind, whereas if they're buying pet toys and food, especially if they don't have pets, they are buying it specifically to donate. Much harder to do that with food.

I get what you're saying, but I almost think it's easier to donate food...I just grabbed some items from around my house and brought it in. And considering how many people shop at places like BJ's and Costco, people are sure to have food around that they probably don't need. With pet items, you really have to make the effort to go out and get it (unless you happen to have some cans of food sitting around).

Additionally, when I've mentioned this phenomenon to some co-workers, they admitted they would rather help the animals. So it wasn't necessarily about what was easier.

I don't know, maybe I reading too much into this. :noidea:

  7. I don't know if this qualifies as a rant, but...

We have two holiday donation boxes at work. A food donation box for a local pantry and a pet box for the local rescue. The size of the pet box is about twice the size of the food pantry boxes. And the pet box is literally overflowing with donations...pet toys/food and spread all over the surrounding cabinets/floors. The food pantry box isn't even half full. I am a huge pet person, but people (or at least the ones that I work with) seem to value animal lives more than human lives. It's kind of shocking...almost to the point of being appalling.

  8. People who look a gift horse in the mouth...

If your in-laws are letting you live in a house for free (to be willed to you upon their deaths) and they give you a few house rules...suck it up or live elsewhere and pay for it (where you will probably have similar rules anyway). Oh and the in-laws are paying for many renovations on the house (new roof, new windows, ect...).

  9. This may cross the line of "No political discussions", but I am not advocating one side or another, so....

It really sucks that someone who lives 1 mile from Arundel Mills Mall could not vote on the slot machine referendum. Yet someone who lives an hour away could.

  10. I hate having to continually watch Tom Brady's brutal acting on that lame Concast commercial. But when his ankle barely gets touched by T-Suggs, he puts on an Oscar performance.

  11. "Wow! That's a low price!"

    :angryfire:

I yelled that at Staples the other day...The only person within eyesight was a cashier who just looked at me and rolled her eyes. I'm not sure what I was trying to accomplish other than amusing myself...and it worked. :o

  12. A couple of stories from my workplace (stangely enough, all involve managers)...

    1. We have a salesman and a sales manager that habitually talk on their cell phones in bathrooms. Okay...if you can control bodily functions well enough to know that you won't make any noises, then by all means, talk on the phone while doin' the biz. But in a public restroom, you can't control when others may drop a watermelon or a jailbreak. I don't think that the customer on the other end of your line wants to hear that and know that you are wizzing while striking your deal.

    2. Someone mentioned walking in on someone eating a sandwich...well, I once walked in on someone eating an apple. Really, I don't think you're keeping any doctors away by eating that in here.

    3. I once walked into the restroom and a gentlemen is staring right at me at the doorway still pulling up his pants. Was he being perverted and hoped someone would see his little surprise?!

And one last comment: Wash your hands....PLEASE, it's not that difficult or time consuming. When you can see other people in the restroom and they know who you are, not washing just says "I'm a disgusting pig and I don't care if you know it."

  13. This is a baseball related rant...I really wish more batters would signal to the baserunners on potential passed balls...There's no guarantee that the runner can see if the ball got far enough away...especially if the runner is on second base...Help your teammates out...

    ... ;) ...

  14. Hey Bud Light - you are the antithesis of drinkability.

That's kind of like the McDonald's commercial that was out not that long ago...They were trying to hype up their food preparers as "artists" saying they meticulously put the burgers together. Um, really???? :scratchchinhmm:
